ABSTRACT: This study examined the role of early childhood education in teaching world history to young children. Objectives included assessing children's understanding of world history, identifying effective educational practices, and evaluating the long-term benefits of early history education. A survey design was employed due to its efficiency in gathering detailed data from a diverse population. Purposive sampling was used to select 220 children from preschools in Kano State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that children who received world history education demonstrated better understanding and appreciation of historical events and figures, with activities like storytelling, historical reenactments, and interactive history lessons being particularly effective. The study recommended integrating world history education into early childhood programs to foster historical awareness from an early age.
